To the editor of the Technician,
I wanted to call to your attention the inefficiency of the Gorman Street bus route. The amount of buses on this route and the size of the buses is inadequate. During what I perceive to be the busiest times of the day, the rush to get to 8:30 a.m. classes and 10:15 a.m. classes, the buses are almost always full. The bus drivers do a great job of trying to safely get as many people on the bus as they can, but there is only so much that they can do with the current buses. I am contacting you in hopes that you can use your on-campus influence to help draw awareness to this problem. Hopefully the kind of attention that you can provide can persuade those in charge of the bus system to improve the size of the buses and the amount of buses that are used. If it is not currently possible for more buses to be purchased, than maybe the timing of the buses could be fixed. It is much more important to have two buses come between 8:00-8:15 a.m. than have one of those come around 8:20 a.m. or later when it is too late for anyone to make it to an 8:30 a.m. class on time. It is obvious that being able to get to class on time is important and I hope that my submission may persuade you to help influence a change in the bus system. Thank you for your time and consideration.
