According to the Department of Academic and Student Affairs, 20 additional students have reported symptoms of the illness and are receiving treatment.
According to a message sent out by the Department of Academic and Student Affairs approximately 30 students were suffering gastrointestinal illness in Alexander Residence Hall since 7 p.m. Monday.
Student Health Services and Environmental Health and Safety are currently investigating the source of the illness.
The primary symptoms of the illness are upper gastrointestinal irritation according to DASA. Students who are experiencing these symptoms are encouraged to let their resident advisers know and either stay in their rooms or go to the Student Health Center. Students who are not ill are encouraged to go about their daily routine.
Wellness kits are available for affected students and housekeeping staff will increase cleaning as a precaution.
