After an entire week of speculation it is official. The 8-4 N.C. State Wolfpack is heading to Orlando Fl, to play in the Champs Sports Bowl at Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium. The Pack will face off against the No. 22 West Virginia Mountaineers, who are 9-3 this season. The game will be held on Dec. 28th at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN.
This will be the 10th time that head coach Tom O’Brien’s team has made a postseason appearance and just the second time he has done it with the Pack.
“Our team could not be more excited about the opportunity to play in the Champs Sports Bowl,” O’Brien said to Gopack.com. “A trip to Orlando is a great reward for their hard work this season and we are are happy to have a quality opponent like West Virginia. We hope that our fans will paint the town red.”
As far as the game goes, this will be the third time that State and West Virginia have met in postseason play as the two teams have split the series 1-1. As a whole, the two teams have played nine total times with West Virginia holding the 5-4 lead.
