NC State’s Park Scholarship program has entrusted 40 students from NC State’s Class of 2023 with Park Scholarships. The program brings to light and encourages achievement in areas of scholarship, leadership and service.
Scholarships are estimated at a $110,000 value for in-state students and $200,000 for out-of-state students, running over the course of four years. Park Scholars also have opportunities to request grants and register early for classes and mentorships.
The Class of 2023 represents students from 13 U.S. states. Some have served as student body presidents, employees and activists. The group also includes a published photographer, a musician with work published on Spotify and one research intern with the National Cancer Institute.
Park Scholarships are funded through the Park Foundation, created by the late Roy H. Park, an NC State alum from the class of 1931. The Foundation focuses its work in areas such as education, public broadcasting and the environment.
In 2013, the Foundation contributed $50 million to NC State’s Park Scholarship endowment, bringing its total contribution toward NC State scholarships to $145 million since its inception in 1996.
