The NC State volleyball team had its two-game win streak snapped Sunday on the road at the hands of No. 3 Pittsburgh in straight sets 25-9, 25-16 and 25-12. The Wolfpack and the Panthers competed live to a national audience on ESPNU.
After being blown out 25-9 in the first set, NC State (8-12, 3-5 ACC) was able to scrap against Pittsburgh (19-1, 8-0 ACC) in the second set, only losing 25-16. In this set, NC State jumped out to a 4-1 lead and showed promise against one of the best teams in the country.
In the third set, the Panthers reasserted their dominance with a 25-12 win. Pittsburgh did not trail once in this set.
Sophomore outside hitter Jade Parchment led the Wolfpack with seven kills and seven digs.
Another standout player for the Wolfpack was redshirt freshman setter Nina Sharpton, who led the team with 17 assists.
