Local elections are already underway in Wake County, and in addition to the Oct. 8 election day, Raleigh voters have early voting options until Oct. 4.
The City of Raleigh and Town of Cary have six sites set up for early voting:
- Glen Eden Pilot Park Neighborhood Center
- Herbert C. Young Community Center
- Method Road Community Center
- Millbrook Exchange Community Center
- Roberts Park Community Center
All are available Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday from 1-6 p.m., until Oct. 4. More details, including bus routes, can be found on the WakeGOV website.
The North Carolina State Board of Elections has an online tool for checking voter registration status.
North Carolina law stipulates that the deadline for voter registration is 25 days before the date of an election. This has passed, meaning anyone not already registered cannot vote on Election Day; however, they may register at an early voting site through a same-day registration process.
Voters looking to register through this process must bring identification showing current name and address, including North Carolina driver’s licenses, photo identifications issued by a government agency, utility bills and bank statements, according to the Board of Elections website.
