NC State football has landed a familiar name on the graduate transfer market. Former Wake Forest receiver Tabari Hines has transferred to the program via Oregon.
Hines had three catches for 32 yards and a touchdown in three appearances for the Ducks due to a knee injury suffered in the offseason.
Before grad transferring to Oregon last offseason, Hines, the cousin of former NC State running back Nyheim Hines, spent three seasons with the Demon Deacons. His last season in Winston-Salem, 2017, was his most productive, with 53 catches for 683 yards and seven touchdowns.
In Wake’s 30-24 win over NC State in 2017, Hines had eight catches for 139 yards and three touchdowns. He had 22 catches for 306 yards and four touchdowns in three career games against the Wolfpack.
Wide receiver is a position of need for NC State after Kelvin Harmon and Jakobi Meyers left school early for the NFL draft. Hines joins a group that figures to include redshirt junior C.J. Riley, redshirt sophomore Thayer Thomas, junior Emeka Emezie and redshirt freshman Devin Carter.
