Dominating the Phoenix in its last non-conference match before ACC play, No. 23 NC State men trounced Elon 6-1, only losing on one singles court.
The Pack (8-1) extended its win streak to four as the squad looked solid in most aspects, preparing for a loaded conference slate. With every singles match versus Elon (2-4) ending in straight sets, the only loss for NC State came on Court 2 as 22-year-old Lithuanian freshman Ainius Sabaliauskas fell to Elon’s Rafael Ymer, the brother of Mikael Ymer, a notable Swedish player on the ATP Tour.
Outside of Sabaliauskas’ 7-6, 6-3 loss, the Pack was dominant, winning most of its sets by multiple breaks. No. 15 senior Martin Borisiouk got it started on Court 1, picking up a ranked win by taking down No. 106 Veljko Krstic via a hard-fought 7-5 first set and a dominant 6-0 second set.
Coming into the team season with an injury, Borisiouk had struggled in the top spot and came into the match with a 1-3 record, but the win could serve as a springboard for the 2025 NCAA Singles semifinalist to get back to his former level.
Moving up to Court 3, No. 104 sophomore William Manning picked up a dominant win 6-1, 6-4 over Jack Curtis. Manning moved to 7-1 with the win, continuing his campaign as one of the most consistent players for the Pack this year.
On Court 4, No. 117 redshirt-sophomore Jules Leroux also lost just five games over the course of his match versus Nikola Parichkov, a Wake Forest transfer who was a part of the 2025 team national championship team. Instead, Leroux looked like the champion, winning 6-2, 6-3 and advancing his record to 7-2 this season.
French freshman Charlie Camus continued his dominant 2026 campaign with another win, moving to 8-1 this season. Handing Oskar Antinheimo a 6-3, 6-4 loss, Camus was victorious again after dominating Elon’s pair of Antinheimo and Charles Pilet 6-0 in the doubles with Manning.
Rounding things out, freshman Darius Pop also dropped just five games on Court 6, winning 6-3, 6-2 versus Pilet, moving to 5-1 on the season.
Competition will begin to ramp up as the Wolfpack begins conference play, hosting Georgia Tech (7-2) Friday, Feb. 27, at 4 p.m.
