NC State gymnastics captured its second quad meet victory of the season, defeating Towson, West Virginia and Ursinus. The Wolfpack placed first with a final score of 197.150.
With the Wolfpack (12-4) less than a full point above second place, sophomore Syniya Thomas helped lift her team to the top, anchoring both the floor and vault sections of the meet. Sticking her landings for both events, she finished with a 9.900 in each, setting the record for the evening.
Kicking off the meet on beam, the team set the tone early and held the standard high from the start. Delivering confident, composed routines across the lineup, the Pack posted an impressive 49.400. Freshman Autumn Rardin and junior Maddie Hall put on a near-perfect routine and led the squad, each finishing with a 9.900.
On the floor, NC State finished just .050 behind Towson. A series of dynamic, polished tumbling from each gymnast helped the Pack match their beam score of 49.400. Sophomore Ava Myers set the tone early with an electric routine and tallied a 9.900 alongside Thomas.
Although the vault marked the Wolfpack’s lowest team score of the night, the lineup delivered strong, controlled performances to secure second overall for the event. Thomas and Myers once again led the Pack and stuck their landings with tight precision to lead the team above Towson and Ursinus. NC State ended the rotation with a 49.100.
Closing out the meet at the uneven bars, the Pack faced a few challenges. While the rotation wasn’t flawless and there were some slips off the bar, NC State showed resilience and composure when it mattered most. The 49.250 the Pack put up was enough to slip ahead of the other three teams. Freshman Emerson Fisk tallied the lowest score for the team at a 9.275, but after a fall, she regrouped, remounted and completed her routine to the very end.
The NC State Wolfpack will travel to Columbus, Ohio, to compete in the Ohio State Quad Meet on Sunday, March 8, at 2 p.m.
