With all eyes on Court 1, No. 15 senior Martin Borisiouk hoisted the Pack past Clemson 4-3.
No. 23 NC State men’s tennis (10-1, 2-0 ACC) extended its win streak to six matches as it took down the Tigers (4-8, 0-2 ACC), who threatened late in the match. The Pack led 3-1 after taking the doubles point and picking up wins on Courts 4 and 6, but Clemson challenged the top of NC State’s lineup, tying the match at 3-3 with just the contest between Borisiouk and Noa Vukadin yet to finish.

After Vukadin took the first set by dominating the tiebreak 7-1, he and Borisiouk remained in a tight battle with breaks hard to come by. With the match at 4-3, action was finished on all the other courts. In the first outdoor event of the season, it all rested on the Pack’s ace — the man who advanced to the semifinals of the 2025 NCAA singles championship.
Coming up clutch late in the contest, Borisiouk closed out the match by winning eight of the next nine games, helping the Pack remain undefeated in ACC play.

NC State grabbed the early momentum in the doubles portion as the pairing of Borisiouk and redshirt sophomore Jules Leroux dominated on Court 1 6-0. Securing the much needed point, redshirt freshman Cody Benton and freshman Ainius Sabaliauskas picked up a ranked win over No. 62 Matisse Farzam and Marko Mesarovic.
The first to fall on the singles courts was Sabaliauskas, who could only pick up three games versus Farzam, falling 6-2, 6-1. But fellow freshman Darius Pop retaliated, winning 6-2, 6-2 against the Spaniard Noah Cherubino.
Soon, No. 117 Leroux tallied a straight-set victory of his own versus Henrik Bladelius on Court 4, to give the Pack a 3-1 advantage. But as the 6-foot-6 No. 104 sophomore William Manning fell in a close match 7-5, 6-4 to No. 64 Viktor Markov, and as standout freshman Charlie Camus dropped 6-4, 6-0, the Pack gave up its lead and needed a gutsy performance from its best — and that it got.
Back in action next weekend, the Pack heads down to Florida for matches versus Florida State (8-6, 0-2 ACC) and Miami (7-5, 0-2 ACC). NC State will face the Seminoles at 5:30 on Friday, March 6, and the Hurricanes on Sunday, March 8, at noon.
