NC State Police arrested a suspect with active warrants in Harris Hall at approximately 9:50 a.m. this morning.
Lauren Barker, senior media relations strategist at NC State, wrote in an email to Technician that the suspect was known to be trespassed.
“NC State Police were called to respond to a suspected non-affiliated individual in Harris Hall that was known to be trespassed,” Barker wrote. “The individual had active warrants and was arrested. The individual was not armed.”
Barker identified the suspect as Chareese E. Livingston.
Court records indicate Livingston was arrested in November 2023 for disorderly conduct and assaulting a government employee and again in December 2023 for shoplifting and first-degree trespassing.
Livingston’s LinkedIn profile says she previously worked as a cashier and caterer for NC State Dining and studied English at NC State. She does not currently appear in the University’s student and staff directory.
The specific nature of the active warrants leading to Livingston’s arrest is still under investigation by Technician.
This is a developing story. Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to contact NC State Police.
