Protests over North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory’s immigration stance took place in downtown Raleigh Friday afternoon. Immigration advocates marched from Moore Square to the Governor’s Mansion, banging pots and pans along the way, in an effort to dissuade McCrory from participating in a lawsuit with 20 other states against President Barack Obama’s executive order that would prevent the deportations of millions of working undocumented immigrants in the United States. The protest’s organizers said they want to educate the public about immigration rights and the economic impact immigrants have on North Carolina.
