With summer just around the corner, the pull of the open road may be a strong one. And after exams are done, getting out of town may be just the way to celebrate freedom — whether you prefer to travel by wheels or wings. The following are locations worth visiting stretching from the East Coast to the West.
Wide open Wyoming
If you are the kind of person that is thoroughly amazed by the great outdoors, Wyoming is the place for you. With destinations like the quaint western town of Jackson Hole to the majestic mountains of the Rockies, Wyoming is truly a place for introspection and awe. Whitewater rafting down the Snake River is an opportunity not to be missed, as well as visiting the Grand Teton National Park. Yellowstone National Park has many remarkable sights as well, including herds of elk and buffalo and the famous Old Faithful geyser. Cody is worth a visit too, with its title of the Rodeo Capital of the World and commerce in Native American jewelry.

Sights in San Francisco
For those who desire a city with a little bit of everything, San Francisco is a great option. For a bit of history, Alcatraz Island is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Exploring the former prison is at a cost, though, and reservations must be made beforehand. Fisherman’s Wharf is an excellent area for shopping, and Ghiradelli Square is optimal for chocolate-lovers. Chinatown provides a cross-cultural experience while staying in the city, and walking across the Golden Gate Bridge is a tradition that should be experienced, just don’t forget a jacket!
