Wolfpack wrestling wins two medals at Mining Glory tourney
Administrative assistant Timmy McCall, graduate assistant Tommy Gantt and former NC State wrestler Mike Kosoy traveled to Kemerovo, Russia this past weekend to compete in the 2017 Mining Glory International Freestyle Wrestling Tournament. The trip was funded by the Wolfpack Regional Training Center.
McCall wrestled in the 97 kilogram weight class and competed for a bronze medal, but ended up earning fifth place. Gantt, a former NCAA All-American for the Pack, secured the bronze in the 70 kilogram weight class. Kosoy picked up three wins on his way to the championship bout, but fell 2-1 and earned the silver in 125 kilogram.

Women’s tennis shines in Gopher Invite
On the third day of the Gopher Invitational in Minneapolis, Minnesota, senior Tayla Stenta and junior Amanda Rebol won both of their doubles matches, while freshman Taylor Bridges clinched her first career singles victory.
Stenta and Rebol defeated Nebraska’s pairing of Paula Del Cueto Castille and Brianna Lashway, 7-6, and Minnesota’s duo of Karyna Bihel and Camila Vargas, 6-2. Bridges dominated in her first win, defeating North Dakota’s Regan Lynch 6-1, 6-0.

Pack Volleyball holds off Notre Dame
The NC State volleyball team moves to 7-6 overall and 2-0 in ACC play after beating Notre Dame, 3-2, Sunday in Reynolds Coliseum. The win marks NC State’s seventh win in its last eight matches; furthermore, this is the first time the Pack has won its first two conference matches since 2012.
The Wolfpack totaled 18.5 blocks, the most by any team in the ACC this season. NC State also had five-different players score in the double-digits. Senior Emily Harris had a career day with 26 digs, and senior Julia Brown recorded a personal-best 23 digs.
