On Aug. 22, NC State students received an email denoting the changes to occur as a result of Grubhub’s acquisition of Tapingo. In the email, students were advised to download the Grubhub app in order to continue ordering food successfully.
Grubhub purchased Tapingo for approximately $150 million late Sept. 2018, according to a statement released by Grubhub. According to the statement, the combination of both the Grubhub and Tapingo platforms will bring greater convenience to consumers and restaurants throughout the food ordering process.
Tapingo serves as a food ordering platform and is partnered with over 150 college campuses, including NC State, and experiences tens of thousands of transactions a day, according to the statement.
