The Women's Center on the top floor of Talley Student Union is one of the four Campus Community centers at NC State. The space was created by the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity (OIED), and has resources ranging from Book Club to counseling. The purpose of the Women's Center is to create a safe space for allies in the community to pursue gender equality and social justice.

The GLBT Center celebrates its 10 ear anniversary in Talley on Monday, Feb 12. The celebration includes a banquet for students in the LGBTQ community, as well as for their allies. Posters and informational booths also describe the organization's history since being established in 2008.

Speakers included those who depend on DACA, and Congressman Price, who condemned the president's actions. The event was organized by two NC State students, which took place on the major streets of downtown.

New waste and composts bins can be found in Talley Student Union and Witherspoon Student Center, brought in by the Sustainability Council at NC State. The organization exists to reduce waste and advance sustainability on campus.

NC State's co-ed A Capella group, Wolfgang A Capella, practices their rendition of "Rise Up" during a rehearsal on Thursday, March 1 in Witherspoon Student Center. Students who were called back for their audition watched the performance and then practiced the different parts with the group. Wolfgang recently won semi-finals and have music on both iTunes and Spotify.

Intramurals at NC State offer a variety of different games, including: wallyball, soccer, cricket, frisbee, and volleyball. All NC State students are eligible to register for intramural teams their spring semester.

NC State students sing karaoke during the Cultural Exchange Network's global karaoke night in One Earth Lounge Thursday. The club helped organize the event with the Union Activities Board. Karaoke typically happens in Talley once a month in the lounge where students are gathered.

Claudia Alberico, a graduate teacher and research assistant in the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, Aaron Hipp, associate professor of community health and sustainability in the College of Natural Resources, and Oriol Marquet, researcher in parks and management, recently shared their research on video games that incorporate physical activity, including Pokemon Go. The researchers focused on changes in activity levels following the release of the popular app: Pokemon Go, which encourages users to find virtual "Pokemon" in their area. The NC State alumni are optimistic about virtual reality games improving health of students on college campuses, and elsewhere.

The presentation in Talley covered the history of language in relation to gender, and how students at NC State can be inclusive and aware of gender identity. Ramos is a part of the organization El Pueblo, which promotes youth leadership, and works to promote equality among the Latinx community. The DACA rally ended in Halifax Mall, where speakers, including Congressman Price, condemned Trump's decision to rescind the program.

Two NC State students organized the event, and several people who depend on DACA shared their stories.

Several speakers, including Congressman David Price, condemned Trump's actions, while people who depend on DACA told their stories.

New senators are sworn in on the Senate meeting in Talley on Wednesday, Sept. 13. Following words from Vice Chancellor and Dean of Academic and Student Affairs Mike Mullen, the newly elected Senators, faced the incumbents to take their oaths. Senators represent the different schools and colleges, and all took office after the elections that recently took place.

La Stella Wood Fired on Hillsborough Street undergoes renovations Wednesday. The new restaurant is replacing H-Street Kitchen, which closed earlier this year. La Stella Wood Fired is owned by Pizza La Stella, which is a wood-fired concept restaurant in downtown Raleigh.
