Ann Bennette Sasser, a first-year in exploratory studies, moves her belongings out of Owen Residence Hall on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020. Sasser said that it was frustrating having to move all of her things out of the dorm, then buy new things to furnish an apartment. “These few weeks were not what I expected, but it was fun while it lasted.”

Andrew Kissell, a first-year in exploratory studies, loads up his car during move out on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020. Students were forced to move out of on campus housing due to COVID-19 after only being there for a few weeks. Kissell said, “I’m not super happy about moving out so soon, but I understand it.”

Students were given specific move out times to reduce the amount of people in the dorms at a time. Crandall said that he knew the abrupt move out was coming and was annoyed that the university chose to move students on to campus in the first place.

Proud said that he enjoyed his two weeks on campus more than he thought he would. “I’m upset about moving out," he said. "I hope things are back to normal in the spring.”

McCroskey is from Archdale, NC but he will be getting an apartment near campus after he heard the announcement that students were no longer allowed to live on campus.
