A vehicle collided with a pedestrian at the intersection of Pullen Road and Baver Drive this morning, causing traffic blockages going southbound on Pullen.

Lauren Barker, senior media relations strategist at NC State, said the individual struck was identified as an NC State student and was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m., during the height of traffic going into campus for morning classes.

Technician staff witnessed the scene after it took place, with an individual holding the struck student on the southbound lane, as emergency responders were on their way.
