With looming deadlines, graduation approaching and the semester coming to an end, TV and film can provide some much-needed relief during such a chaotic time. The blissful post-midterms time spent on the couch is a great time to catch up on all the TV shows and movies you missed while studying.
The Pitt
A personal favorite of mine that I’ve been anxiously waiting to catch up on is “The Pitt.” A fast-paced medical drama airing on HBO is bound to hold your interest as the season progresses. Episodes are released every Thursday at 9 p.m. with the last episode of season two scheduled to air April 16.
Love is Blind
If you’re looking for some drama, Season 10 of “Love is Blind” is currently airing on Netflix. This season is set in Ohio with 32 singles looking for love and bringing the heat.
This season has brought some controversy with contestant Chris Fusco and his comments body-shaming another cast member. I won’t give any spoilers, but this season is filled with action, making it a must-watch.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
If you’re in the mood for an exciting “Game of Thrones” prequel, HBO’s “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” would be worth a watch. All six episodes of Season 1 have been released, making it a great opportunity for a quick binge-watch.
If I Had Legs I’d Kick You
If dark comedies are more your thing, “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You” was recently released for streaming on HBO after spending time in the theaters in 2025. The movie follows a young mother navigating caring for her daughter with a mysterious illness while her husband is absent. This movie weaves a dark path through romance, comedy and suspense.
Pluribus
“Pluribus,” a post-apocalyptic sci-fi series streaming on Apple TV, has a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes thanks to its unique plot and talented cast. I haven’t seen any shows similar to this, so I am excited to see what the series has to offer.
All Her Fault
If you want to bring spooky season to spring, “All Her Fault” is a nail-biting thriller on Peacock with so many twists and turns you’ll never guess what happens next. I haven’t heard much online discourse about this series, but it’s one of my favorite recent watches.
Send Help
Taking a trip to the movie theater is a fun, relaxing activity that you might not have time for between studying and writing papers. “Send Help” is a new horror comedy involving an employee and her irritating boss teaming up to survive a deserted island. Although the reviews are mixed, I enjoy campy horror and will definitely be taking a trip to the theater.
The Bluff
If you’re looking for action and adventure meets romance, “The Bluff,” streaming on Amazon Prime, should go on your watchlist. Starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas as a daring female pirate, this movie gives you non-stop action with a touch of romance and an interesting lesson on the history of female pirates.
Love Story: John F Kennedy Jr & Carolyn Bessette
Biographical romances have been all the rage in TV lately. A political romance based on a true story, “Love Story: John F Kennedy Jr & Carolyn Bessette” is now streaming on Hulu with new episodes releasing Thursdays at 9 p.m.
Take time to rest, recharge and relax before the final push to the end of the semester.
