NC State track and field wrapped up its regular season at the Aggie Classic and Duke Twilight, showing out in the Classic before losing some steam in the Twilight.
Aggie Classic
In nearby Greensboro, the Pack dominated with 10 top-three finishes, including two top-10 program best marks.
On Day 1, Graduate Jakerra Covington and sophomore Bradley Pawlak opened the floodgates with second-place finishes in javelin and discus, respectively.
Sophomore Hannah Komukyeya and freshman Alexis Mayhew followed suit with personal bests in the 400m hurdles, ranking third and eighth, respectively, in program history.
Freshman Rance Springs marked a personal-best 52.05 in the men’s 400m hurdles for second place, while junior Xavier Branker took fifth with a time of 52.54.
Day 2 was no different as junior Tony Taylor II took second in the men’s hammer with a 53.26m toss and sophomore James Coleman took third in the men’s 110m hurdles with a time of 14.20.
Sophomore Molly Canon, junior Madison Moraja and junior Kyra Durham took third, sixth and eight respectively, in the women’s 800m, and sophomore Shauné Ingraham took third in the women’s 400m with a time of 55.11.
Junior Christian Parker took home the gold in the men’s 400m with a 46.89 time, and junior Elijah Dawes followed close behind with a seventh-place time of 47.94.
To cap off the Aggie Classic, both the women and the men took the gold in their respective 4×400 relays.
Duke Twilight
The Pack then took a trip to Durham for the Duke Twilight, marking 11 top-10 finishes.
Junior Judd Armstrong earned first place in the men’s high jump with his 2.11m leap, while freshman Chase Farlow took sixth with a 2.01m leap. In the women’s high jump, sophomore Audrey Jenkins took sixth and junior Jenna Barnes took ninth.
The Pack took silver in both the men’s 4×100 and the men’s triple jump with graduate David Coles’ 15.40m attempt.
Junior Tyson Adams, sophomore Ryan Farness and freshman Jack Owen took second, ninth and tenth, respectively, in the men’s long jump, while senior Elyssia Fisher took tenth on the women’s side.
The Pack now prepares for the ACC Outdoor Championships, set for May 14-16 in Louisville, Kentucky.
